Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened

Instructions:

2. In a large bowl cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating until well combined. Stir in the vanilla.

3. In a separate bowl whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, stirring until just combined.

4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before turning out onto a serving plate.

5. For the frosting, combine the peanut butter, butter, and powdered sugar in a medium bowl. Beat until light and fluffy. Gradually add the milk and beat until smooth. Spread the frosting over the top and sides of the cooled cake.
